Etymology: Old dual, identical with Av. , OCS na, IE *noH; besides with orig. long diphthong Skt. nau. Here also Lat. nōs. For νῶϊ (\< *νω-Ϝι?), and νῶε several explanations have been tested, s. Schwyzer 600 ff. w. further details and rich lit.; also W.-Hofmann s. nōs.
